Dry Eye Clinic

Dry Eye Clinic

Dr. Lidkea has a special interest in treating Dry Eye Syndrome. In fact, Dr Lidkea has lectured at the Northwestern Regional Optometry Meeting on advanced treatment of ocular surface disease.

This is a very bothersome condition that has become one of the most common patient concerns seen at our clinic. Symptoms of Dry Eye include burning, dryness of course, redness, and even watery eyes.

Dr. Lidkea prescribes various treatments after doing an extensive Dry Eye examination. Treatments may include nutritional supplements, symptom specific artificial tears, prescription eye drops to stimulate tear production, certain oral medications, environmental modifications, Blephex microblepharoexfoliation and long-term reversible closure of the tear drainage ducts using soft silicon plug inserts.

By using various treatment options, Dr. Lidkea is able to reduce or eliminate the effects of Dry Eye and significantly improve a patient's quality of life. Patients often report not only feeling better, but actually seeing more clearly!

Check out this video of one of our popular treatments: BlephEx

BlephEx™ removes scurf, biofilm and bacterial exotoxins, the main causes of inflammatory lid disease, thereby improving the health of the eyelid. BlephEx treats blepharitis, MGD, and dry eye in a painless and efficient manner.
